The last thing you want to think about during your wedding or private party is telling the musicians when, how, or what to play. I represent very professional presentation of violin playing and am willing to work studiously with my clients to make sure every possible detail is arranged prior to your event. A private consultation will be available to personally select the music for your special day and to insure that all details of your wedding ceremony are exactly how you wish them to be.
The violin's graceful sound can range from ethereal and delicate to festive and triumphant, making it flexible enough to enhance every aspect of a wedding ceremony. Whether you plan on having a traditional wedding ceremony in a religious setting or an intimate service in a private home or non-traditional setting, the violin is an elegant and sophisticated option. A wide variety of music can be played on the violin and it will be a unique and impressive change from the standard organ/piano or ensemble.
While the violin can be played alone as a solo instrument, it also makes a beautiful ensemble with another violin, viola, flute, harp, piano, cello, voice or other instruments. I work with the area's best professional musicians and I would be happy to inquire about their availability if you are interested in an ensemble.
Traditional Wedding Ceremonies include the following music:
Prelude music (usually about 15-20 minutes of background music prior to the wedding ceremony while your guests are being seated)
Bridal Party Processional
Bride's Processional
Recessional
Postlude music (about 5-10 minutes of background music after the wedding ceremony)
Other Musical Options during a Wedding Ceremony:
Lighting of the Unity Candle
Rose Ceremony/Greeting the Parents
Sign of Peace
Offertory
Prayer to the Holy Family
Communion
I can provide you with appropriate solo violin or ensemble music for all of the above times in your wedding ceremony. The music works listed below are traditionally the most popular wedding music, commonly requested. These are just suggestions; you can choose to have the same pieces performed at different times during the ceremony or you can choose anything else from my Repertoire Page. Although, if you have a special request, please let me know and I will see if I can accommodate it.
